WPP buys into retail

WPP's programmatic business Xaxis has acquired retail media buying agency Triad. Triad Retail Media handles media assets for some of the world's largest retailers including Walmart and eBay. It reported gross revenue of more than US$500m last year. The company launched in Australia in 2015. The deal is intended to establish Xaxis as a bigger player in the ecommerce space and will give Triad access to its technology.

News Corp to buy out Sky News

News Corp is edging closer to a takeover of Sky News in Australia, according to multiple reports. Negotiations on the deal, believed to be worth $20 million to $25 million are said to have begun two years ago as the media company looks set to buy out stakes from Sky's UK ownership, Nine Entertainment and Seven West.
