Uber to deliver puppies today

Uber is delivering puppies to Australian cities today as part of a tie up with Purina Australia.

From midday to 4pm, puppies will be delivered to Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, Sunshine Coast and Sydney.

It follows a similar stunt last year, where Uber delivered kittens, on request, to offices in Australian cities.

In a statement, Uber says the move will not only help Australians have less stressful workplaces, but it help it work with local animal shelters to help dog adoption.

LinkedIn to debut TV ad during Oscars

LinkedIn will release its first television commercial during the US broadcast of the Academy Awards.

The campaign is called ‘You’re Closer Than You Think’ and aims to show how the platform can help you reach your potential.

It also includes a voiceover by LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner, and marks the first time the social media network has created an integrated campaign. BBDO San Francisco created the ad.

Instagram clocks 200,000 advertisers

Facebook has announced on its picture-sharing app, Instagram, has reached more than 200,000 advertisers, since the launch of sponsored posts in June last year.

In addition, Instagram says on its blog that three-quarters of its advertisers are now based outside of the US, after the company began broadening its advertising base globally.
