Spotify expands programmatic offering with acquisition

Spotify has acquired New York-based app MightyTV - that uses machine learning and personalisation to create playlists of recommended TV and movies. According to a statement from Spotify, the MightyTV team will join Spotify, and its founder and CEO Brian Adams is now vp of technology for the music-streaming service. Terms of the deal were not announced. Adams will oversee Spotify’s programmatic advertising business and build out ad tech and data capabilities for advertisers.

Five by Five snares DDB creative partner Craig Bailey

DDB’s Craig Bailey has joined marketing agency Five by Five as a shareholding creative partner. Bailey had been a creative director at Pusher for four years before joining DDB in 2014. He now joins the leadership team and Five by Five alongside MD Matt Lawton and client director Larissa Rembisz.

McCann brings on digital young guns from Holler

McCann Sydney has scored two digital young guns from Holler, including Jonathon Shannon and Long Truong. The pair will work under ECD Jerker Fagerström and CD Marcus Tesoriero to build the agency’s profile and push McCann’s creative offering. During their two-year partnership at Holler, Shannon and Truong were recognised at One Show, Spikes Asia, and the Epica Awards for Audi R8 Blink and Blackmores Mindful Ocean, and also picked up a win in the D&AD Brand Storytelling competition.
