Match Melbourne office wins first client

Match Media has become the media agency for the Royal Melbourne Show -  the first client its new Melbourne office has picked up since it opened doors two months ago. Match handles media duties for the Sydney Royal Easter Show and was recommended to The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) by its NSW counterpart. "We believe Match have the team and relevant experience to add significant value to our marketing program for the Royal Melbourne Show,” RASV general manager of marketing and business development Brad Jenkins says. The show attracts around 450,000 visitors each year and runs from 17-27 September.

Bauer Media merges UK businesses as Goodchild departs

H Bauer Publishing chief executive David Goodchild is to exit after 23 years, as Bauer Media merges its two UK magazine divisions. Goodchild stepped back from his Australian CEO position in December of last year to return to London. Chief executive of Bauer Media UK Paul Keenan will now take responsibility for the H Bauer business.

Gareth Cooper joins Cummins&Partners

Cummins&Partners has appointed Gareth Cooper as executive strategy director to its Sydney office. Cooper leaves his role at Host Sydney. He has also previously held roles at M&C Saatchi and BMF.

Nine moves away from ninemsn

Nine has announced plans to relaunch ninemsn as nine.com.au, to align its digital properties with Nine’s broader brand. from late June, nine.com.au will launch as a “go to” for relevant and engaging content for all Australians, delivering consumers the widest breadth of content spanning news, sport, lifestyle and entertainment – all for free, all in one place, all under a cohesive brand that is nine.com.au.
