Australia not impacted by Yahoo US rebrand

Australia will not be impacted by the US rebrand of Yahoo to Altaba. The rebrand was made to Yahoo's business that would remain outside the proposed $6.5 billion Verizon acquisition. In this market, Yahoo is still a part of Seven West Media. At the time of the announcement, Yahoo said Seven West Media would take up to nine months to assess the deal, but until then it is "business as usual".

"The recent announcement to name a portion of Yahoo's business 'Altaba' refers to the portion remaining outside the Verizon acquisition. The portion of Yahoo's business that has been purchased is the portion which operates in Australia as Yahoo7. Therefore the naming announcement is unrelated to the Australian operations of Yahoo7."
