NewsMediaWorks consolidates awards

Industry body NewsMediaWorks has combined its PANPA Newspaper of the Year Awards and Advertising and Marketing Awards, creating the News Media Awards. The awards will now run together on the same night for the first time. Previously the PANPAs and the Advertising and Marketing Awards were held over two nights as separate events. NewsMediaWorks CEO Peter Miller says the changes have been introduced to "remain relevant to the publishers and products" the organisation represents. The new award criterias will place emphasis on ‘platform agnostic’ news brands and for the first time, recognise work developed by in-house advertisers, publishers or agencies. All the new categories can be viewed here.
