Movers & Shakers: Thinkerbell, Ooh!Media, Ryvalmedia

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

The Hallway bolsters team
Independent agency The Hallway has named Lyndell Sawyer as its first head of media, following a string of new business wins. Sawyer joins from McCann WorldGroup where she was national head of media for more than four years. Her appointment comes as The Hallway, which has offices in Sydney and Melbourne, was appointed to manage media strategy and channel planning for Foxtel-owned streaming services Kayo Sport and Binge. Further appointments to The Hallway’s media team will be made shortly.

Thinkberbell nabs Ben Shepherd
Ben Shepherd is joining Thinkberbell as general manager of media. The move comes after Shepherd revealed he was departing CHE Proximity after a year at the agency as chief media officer. Shepherd steps into the newly-created role having previously worked at PwC Australia and OMD Australia.

Ex-Carat boss joins Simon Ryan venture
Former managing director of Carat Melbourne Joseph Pardillo has joined new digital marketing and media agency Ryvalmedia as its managing director. Pardillo departed Dentsu Aegis Network's Carat in February after eight and a half years. Ryvalmedia is part of former DAN ANZ CEO Simon Ryan's new venture RyanCap.

New Pureprofile boss
ASX-listed martech Pureprofile has appointed Martin Filz as CEO. Filz joins from Eureka AI, a business intelligence platform which generates actionable insights from mobile data, where he was managing director and chief revenue officer. He replaces Nic Jones who resigned in August last year. Chairman Andrew Edwards took on executive functions from Jones.

Former Ten talent joins BritBox
Network 10's Moira Hogan has been appointed country manager for BritBox as the BBC Studios and ITV joint venture prepares to launch in Australia later this year. Hogan was previously head of content and commercial partnerships for digital media at Network 10.She is also a former general manager of content partnerships at Telstra Media leading the overall content partnerships strategy for Telstra TV and BigPond Movies services

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne names CD
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has appointed Daniel Pizzato as creative director. Pizzato joins the agency from Leo Burnett, where he was most recently creative director, working across brands including 7-Eleven, Spirit of Tasmania, and Bonds. In his new role, Pizzato will support the agency’s creative leadership across a number of key retail and lifestyle accounts.

Ooh!Media boosts Queensland team
Former ARN sales director Jamie Wood has been appointed as the head of oOh!media’s sales team in Queensland. Wood will focus on building the capabilities of the local sales team while delivering strategic leadership and building customer relationships across the portfolio. He previously spent seven years at ARN in various roles, most recently as its sales director for Brisbane.

Dentsu’s Cox Inall Communications hires Justine Pirie
BWM Dentsu Group’s specialist agribusiness agency Cox Inall Communications has appointed Justine Pirie as general manager. Cox Inall’s client list includes National Australia Bank Agribusiness, Meat & Livestock Australia, the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales and the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Horticulture Australia, Incitec Pivot Limited and agtech trail blazer, FarmBot. Pirie has been part of Cox Inall's leadership team since 2011 and has held senior roles at Publicis Life Brands, Westpac's BT Financial Group and Australian Wool Innovation/The Woolmark Company. Australia’s agribusiness is thriving on the back of drought-breaking rains across most of the country and high prices for grain and beef.

Magnite’s new managing director
Independent sell-side advertising platform Magnite has appointed James Young as managing director for Australia where he will be responsible for growing the business in the country. Young was previously general manager for Telaria in Australia before the merger of Telaria and Rubicon Project. Additionally, James Brown has been named head of international, overseeing EMEA and JAPAC, while Rohan Creasey will assume the role of director, solutions engineering international, to lead custom client integrations across EMEA and JAPAC.

Kathmandu appoints first chief customer officer
Outdoor lifestyle brand Kathmandu has named Eva Barrett as its first chief customer officer. Barrett will return to Australia after 15 years working for brands including Adidas. She will help accelerate Kathmandu’s transition to an Australiasian retailer to a global brand while strengthening its customer service.
