Movers & Shakers: Domino’s, IPG, News Corp Australia

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

Domino’s nabs Adam Ballesty
Domino’s has appointed Adam Ballesty chief marketing officer for Australia and New Zealand, replacing Allan Collins who departed in April after almost 15 years in the role. Ballesty has held senior marketing roles with brands including Foxtel, Diageo and Pacific Brands, as well as managing his own strategy and research business, working on start-ups such as sportswear company Skins and retail company Unistraw. He joins Domino’s following a general manager position with drink company Seedlip.

Deloitte Digital appoints new boss
Deloitte Digital has promoted Esan Tabrizi to head of Deloitte Digital Australia. Tabrizi takes the reins of the creative, technology and marketing consultancy after 10 years in the business across several leadership roles. His promotion follows the recent elevation of former Deloitte Digital head, Steve Hallam, to lead Deloitte Consulting’s Enterprise Technology and Performance practice.

IPG appoints first growth officer for the region
IPG has appointed Mish Fletcher as its first chief growth officer for the Asia-Pacific region. Fletcher will work across the region, partnering with IPG agencies to ensure the company is delivering the best marketing solutions to help drive growth for clients. She has previously worked as executive vice president, global growth officer at FCB/SIX, and has also spent time at companies such as Accenture Interactive and OgilvyOne Worldwide.

News Corp Australia’s new digital platforms boss
News Corp Australia has appointed Kristin Carlos to head up its digital platform business as managing director of commercial platform. In her new role, Carlos will oversee the business’ platforms including News Xtend which specialises in marketing solutions for small and medium businesses. Carlos has spent more than a decade in various senior executive roles, working at companies such as Yahoo!, Qantas, and Facebook.

SCA makes senior sales appointments
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has appointed Nick Unger as head of sales for regional NSW and Holly Bradley as head of sales for TV in Sydney. In his new role, Unger is responsible for the NSW sales team and will oversee sales management and strategy for SCA’s operations across TV, audio and digital. Bradley, who has worked in the TV sales team for the past eight years at SCA, was most recently group sales manager.

Acast appoints sales lead
Acast has named Kate Digby group sales lead for Australia and New Zealand. Digby joins the company with more than 15 years’ media experience across London and Sydney, previously working as commercial director at Sonder and group sales manager at Nova Entertainment. In her new role she is responsible for guiding the team and offering further insight to brands and agencies looking to include podcasting within their audio marketing strategy.

Clemenger BBDO Sydney appoints head of brand planning
Clemenger BBDO Sydney has appointed Graham Sweet head of brand planning. Sweet has close to 20 years' experience working at top agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi and We Are Social. He has also worked as planning partner at DDB on VW and Mars, and at media agency Bohemia where he worked on flexing his media, tech and data muscles.

Clemenger BBDO hires New York talent
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has appointed Jaclyn Currie as executive director, retail. Currie joins the agency from McCann New York, where she was most recently a member of the executive team and SVP executive account director. During her six years at McCann New York, Currie has led a number of the agency’s key accounts, including Ulta Beauty, Beam Suntory’s Hornitos Tequila, Staples and L’Oreal Paris.

Guardian creates new growth role
Guardian Australia has appointed Jocelin Abbey to the new role of director of growth. Abbey, currently ABC’s head of marketing, has more than 15 years of experience in the industry, working at Yahoo7, Nova Entertainment, Secret Sounds Group and Universal Music. In her new role, she will lead the publisher’s marketing and reader revenue teams, with responsibility for driving audience growth, digital product management, and customer experience.

Quantcast focuses on privacy
Global advertising technology company Quantcast has appointed Min-Jae Lee, JD, as its chief privacy officer. Lee joins Quantcast from The Trade Desk and will be responsible for driving Quantcast’s privacy-first approach and helping brands and publishers manage consumer consent. Prior to The Trade Desk, Lee spent time at technology and media companies including Spotify and Adobe.

Concrete Playground prepares for growth
Digital publisher Concrete Playground has made changes to its leadership team as it eyes growth. Suz Tucker has been appointed editorial director and Samantha Zoratto as client services director. Meanwhile, Tahlia Phillips has been promoted to general manager and Kristen Lazaric to commercial director.

Bear Meets Eagle On Fire boosts brand design and creation offering
Bear Meets Eagle on Fire has appointed award-winning designer Koen Arbouw as design lead. Arbouw was most recently the in-house design director across brand and product for contemporary cycling brand Attaquer. Over his career he also spent time with design companies Landor, Maud and M35, working across various projects for clients including Nike, Google, luxury fragrance brand Escentric Molecules and the AFTRS.

Revolution360 promotes to leadership
Street poster specialist Revolution360 today announced two promotions to its senior leadership. Sean McCaull, the head of sales NSW, is now general manager of business operations and Josh Fitzgerald has been promoted to national sales director from head of sales in Victoria. McCaull's newly created position is designed to expand national operations and implement growth strategies. Fitzgerald will oversee sales and business development from the national team.
