It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

DDB Australia’s Marty O'Halloran takes on global role
DDB Worldwide has promoted Australia’s Marty O'Halloran to global chief executive officer. O'Halloran most recently served as chairman and CEO of DDB Group across Australia and New Zealand, a position he has held since 2005. In his new role, O'Halloran will oversee operations across the global network leading an international team of more than 10,000 people in over 200 offices across 90 countries. O'Halloran began at DDB Melbourne as an account manager before working his way up the ranks.

Andrew Baxter joins another board
Trimantium GrowthOps has appointed Andrew Baxter as a non-executive director on the GrowthOps board of directors. Baxter, the former CEO of Publicis Communications and Ogilvy Australia, brings more than 25 years' experience in the marketing and communications industry to the business. He sits on a number of boards including as chair of Australian Pork, chair of Tjapukai, chair of Commtract, non-executive director of Foresters Financial, non-executive director of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the board of the National Basketball League.

Michelle Guthrie joins adtech board
Advertising technology startup Hoppr has bolstered its board ahead of a planned global scale up, with the appointments of executives Vince Pizzica as co-chairman and Michelle Guthrie as a non-executive director. Hoppr’s flagship solution, HopprTV, delivers targeted video and display advertising to individual set-top boxes. Guthrie, former ABC managing director, is a veteran advertising and media industry executive who over her 25-year career has held senior management roles at global media companies such as Google, Foxtel, BSkyB and Star TV in Hong Kong.

Domain programmatic director joins Gumtree
Community marketplace Gumtree has appointed Shannon Fitzpatrick as director of advertising. In his new role, Fitzpatrick will be leading a team of sales, operations and analysts focused on delivering brand solutions powered by insight to Gumtree’s clients. He will lead strategic direction to drive further growth for the site’s programmatic-first advertising approach. Fitzpatrick, who previously worked at Domain as director of programmatic, brings almost two decades’ experience in media and advertising to the role, having worked in a variety of commercial positions across print and online.

The Brag Media grows commercial team
Music publisher The Brag Media has named Ben Wills as head of commercial for Victoria. Wills, who was most recently the account director at Vice Media, joins The Brag Media to work directly with agencies and brands, while also managing his own commercial team. In his previous role at Vice Media, Wills led campaigns for Asahi, Roadshow, NAB, Peters, Converse, Vic Gov and more.

VCCP promotes senior planner
Independent agency network VCCP has promoted senior planner Josh Manning to the role of planning director. Manning, who joined the business in 2019, will continue to work across key client accounts including Compare the Market, Torrens University Australia and LDV, as well as driving new business growth. Manning has previously worked at Marcel Sydney where he worked across award-winning work for Tiger Beer and Tinder, as well as leading strategy on Rio Tinto.

Ex-agency and strategy executives launch new firm
Brand marketer and ex-advertising agency executive Aimee Dean and ex-Commbank sales strategy leadership executive Rebecca Ransom have launched a new sales and marketing group, The Generals Daughters. Working within the RCI environment The Generals Daughters worked hand-in-hand with their client to develop the brand platform, communications strategy and implemented the sales program. The duo bring more than 45 years of experience across a myriad of brand categories and sales channels and will work in-house or remotely with clients.
