Motio shares surge on trading update

Shares Motio jumped after the place-based media company reported “strong” trading.

In a trading update, the company said the last ten weeks have seen strong, short-term trading conditions with momentum continuing from the May and June.

Revenue at week seven of the new financial year is 28% ahead on last year.

Advertising spend seen from sectors including pharmaceutical, community/services, government and entertainment & leisure.

Shares were up almost 20% then settled about 10% higher at 5.7 cents each.

The ASX-listed company closed the financial year with profit after tax of $2.2 million, up 1,796%.

Revenue was down 2% to $9.2. May and June delivered record revenue.

“Our forward revenue position is very healthy, our cash generation has strengthened and we continue to make progress across our people, products and networks,” said CEO Adam Cadwallader in the company's annual report.
