Mitchell & Partners is the top ranked media agency by media billings for the seventh consecutive year in the annual Nielsen Media Agency Billings report.
The report, published in full in today's AdNews, revealed the agency posted a 21% increase in media billings for the 2010 calender year versus 2009 to notch up an estimated $1,070 – $1,080 million.
The agency was followed by OMD in second place with estimated billings of $760 – $770 million, a 13% increase year-on-year.
MediaCom was third ranked agency with flat billings of $610 – $620 million, showing the agency’s strong new business run in the latter half of 2010, with the IAG, YUM Restaurants and Amaysim accounts, had yet to translate to billings success.
The top performer was Ikon Communications, which leaped up the table from 12th place last year to 7th with an 89% increase in billings year-on-year to an estimated $330 – $340 million.
The report revealed 2010 was a strong media market with just two top 20 media agencies by billings recording declines. The agencies are Carat, which dropped –6% to $260 – $270 million and Davinci-Selectwork (now known as Foundation) which decreased –3% year-on-year to an estimated $30 – $40 million.
The annual Nielsen report includes media agencies estimated billings in terms of dollar bands, the rankings and percentage movement across both years.
