WPP agencies Mindshare, part of GroupM, and Wunderman Thompson have been awarded the media and creative accounts for online shopping mega sale event Click Frenzy, following a competitive pitch.

Mindshare will be taking on the online and offline duties for the digital ecommerce business.

Mindshare Melbourne managing director Chris Solomon says it is a privilege to partner with Click Frenzy as it brings big brands from around the world to consumers at the best prices.

“In the latest GroupM report Emerging Stronger, we forecast that globally eCommerce will grow 20% during 2021, to US$5.2 trillion," Solomon says.

"As the world and Australians become more dependent on eCommerce, online marketplace environments are key to building strong brands and delivering growth.

"Click Frenzy truly value the contribution that media innovation and best in class tools can provide in helping to grow their brand and grow their business.”

Meanwhile, Wunderman Thompson has been awarded the creative duties including brand strategy and architecture, and ongoing communications work.

"We’re thrilled to partner with Click Frenzy, an ambitious Australian eCommerce brand," Wunderman Thompson Melbourne managing director Nick Muncaster says.

"It’s been a great experience working with the Click Frenzy team so far with the project well underway, and we look forward to driving more growth for the business in the future.”

Click Frenzy marketing manager Mark Salzmann says the brand was impressed with what both agencies could offer.

“Mindshare captured our imagination with their strategic vision to amplify the reach and effectiveness of Click Frenzy’s national media buying efforts," Click Frenzy marketing manager Mark Salzmann says.

"We were impressed by their best-in-class tools and systems and their ability to lean on their global network for insights that can be applied to the Australian market.

"We look forward to leveraging Mindshare's innovative media targeting to ensure Click Frenzy’s online mega sale events continue to grow and delight more Australians than ever.

"We couldn’t look past Wunderman Thompson as our growth partner. Not only have they brought to life our current creative ambition, but they have the breadth and scale to unlock our future potential.”’

Click Frenzy was launched in in 2012 by CEO, Grant Arnott, who was inspired by online mega sales in the US Black Friday and Cyber Monday and wanted to create a similar centralised online shopping experience for Australians.

Now hosting more than four online mega sales events per year, Click Frenzy brings together a host of premium retailers from a range of categories including fashion, travel, home and décor, electronics and more where shoppers can access some of Australia’s most exclusive deals and bargains.

The win is the latest in stream of new business wins for Mindshare including Craveable Brands, Foxtel Streamotion and University of Melbourne.

The win also comes following Wunderman Thompson's integration of its commerce business into the agency.
