Mike Sneesby, who stepped down as CEO of Nine in September last year, received a final pay of almost $3 million.
Nine’s latest annual report shows Sneesby’s pay in 2025 was $2.962 million, and most of it, $2.148 million, in termination payments.
This was slightly up on the year before when he was paid $2.87 million. However, the final payment was for only for a part of a year's service.
Sneesby has since been appointed CEO of Middle East broadcaster MBC in Saudi Arabia.
Matthew Stanton, the newly minted chief executive of Nine, was paid $2,572,180 in 2025, according to the media group's report lodged with the ASX.
This was a better pay day than the year before when he, then working as CFO, received $1,074,631.
He hasn’t worked a full year as CEO yet, so his total pay, including bonuses and incentives, isn’t yet clear.
However, when he was appointed, the company put him on a base pay of $1.6 million but he can more than double that with bonuses.
Nine lifted revenue 2% to $2.67 billion in the year to June.
The company is well positioned to remain at the forefront of media in Australia, according to Stanton.
“There are clear opportunities to grow the business - Streaming and Broadcast through an increased penetration of the digital video market reflective of our growing audiences; Publishing on the back of continued growth in digital subscription revenues and commercial agreements with the global platforms; and Marketplaces through both investment in Drive and expanding partnerships," he said when releasing full year results.
