The Media Federation of Australia has opened entries for its 27th annual MFA Awards, adding a new Best Use of Creators/Influencers category and reinstating in-person judging for the first time since before Covid-19.
The new category joins 23 others across Outcomes, Execution, Channel Excellence and People, Planet & Culture. Entries close May 5, with early bird submissions due April 21.
MFA CEO Sophie Madden said the awards reflect what the industry can deliver.
"In today's challenging landscape, impactful results, meaningful change and media excellence matter more than ever,” Madden said.
“The MFA Awards spotlight the work that proves what our industry can achieve when strategy, creativity and collaboration come together."
The Innovation category will shift to a non-entered award this year, with finalists and a winner selected by the MFA Awards Committee and a panel of senior marketer judges from all submitted entries.
Seven Network returns as Grand Prix Sponsor for the 17th consecutive year. National Television sales director Katie Finney said the awards stand out as a rare industry gathering.
"Seven is incredibly proud to have supported the MFA Awards for nearly two decades,” Finney said.
“They are one of the rare moments each year when our industry comes together, reconnecting with old friends, welcoming new ones and celebrating brilliant campaigns that showcase the power of great media."
The black-tie gala dinner will be held September 24 at Sydney's Randwick Racecourse, following the MFA's industry conference MFA EX in Melbourne on September 9 and Sydney on September 24.
Judging involves independent auditing, blind voting and proof of media contribution, with judges drawn from agencies, marketers, media owners and technology companies.
Industry professionals with more than eight years' experience can nominate to judge via the MFA website.
The NGEN Award, for emerging talent with less than five years' experience, will issue a separate call for entries in June.
