Wholesaler Metcash has appointed Ivan Curic head of sales for LocalEyes Retail Media Network, the company's newly launched advertising platform that spans more than 6,500 independent retailers.
Curic brings commercial experience from Australia's leading media networks including Domain, Southern Cross Austereo, Nine Entertainment, Viacom International Media Networks and Network Ten.
He will lead sales and market strategy for LocalEyes, reporting to Mark Lollback, the recently appointed general manager of retail media.
Curic will be responsible for driving commercial partnerships, agency engagement and supplier relationships as the network expands across Metcash's Food, Liquor and Hardware pillars.
"We're pleased to welcome Ivan to the team with his wealth of experience as a recognised leader in the media industry. His appointment marks an exciting step forward for Metcash as we start to scale the LocalEyes retail media network," said Metcash chief people and growth officer Danielle Jenkinson.
LocalEyes harnesses the collective power of Metcash's bannered independent retailers across its Food, Liquor and Hardware networks, enabling advertisers to reach local shoppers through targeted regional and community-level engagement.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Metcash at such an exciting time. LocalEyes is built on the foundation of some of Australia's most iconic and trusted brands – from IGA and Foodland, to Cellarbrations and The Bottle-O, as well as Mitre 10 and Home Hardware," Curic said.
"Metcash's scale and diversity includes more than 6,500 independent stores nationwide, which provides an exciting unique partner proposition for advertisers; national reach with genuine local connection.
"I look forward to working with Danielle, Mark and the team to unlock this value for our partners."
Curic's appointment was effective September 1.
