Outdoor media company QMS announced the alignment of its out-of-home MediaWorks division ahead of its move into the New Zealand Market, leveraging success in radio and out-of-home.
New Zealand outdoor media company MediaWorks will merge under the QMS name from October 1.
The merger follows MediaWorks' recent Auckland Transport street furniture and QMSs’ City of Sydney street furniture contracts.
“Aligning our OOH division with QMS makes strong strategic sense. With QMS’ scale and proven capability, we know our OOH portfolio will go from strength to strength,” said CEO of MediaWorks, Wendy Palmer.
“At the same time, radio is in an incredibly strong position. We’ve just achieved our largest-ever survey share, revenue is growing every quarter, and we are continuing to invest in local markets and our digital platform, Rova.”
The chair of MediaWorks and QMS, Barclay Nettlefold, also highlighted the potential of radio to strengthen both brands.
“This is a positive move for MediaWorks and QMS. Radio is standing tall, delivering consistent results and growth, while our OOH operation gains the backing of one of the most experienced and capable outdoor businesses in Australasia,” said Nettlefold.
“Together, this positions both sides of the business for long-term success. The changes ensure that radio continues to stand proudly on its own two feet, while OOH benefits from the strength and scale of QMS.”
