MediaMath, one of the pioneers of demand side platforms, is officially opening an Australian office after formalising an alliance with its Australian partner Kinected.

The company will absorb a number of Kinected staff as part of establishing its Australian presence.

Kinected has worked in partnership with MediaMath for the past two and a half years in Australia, and the business said the region has become a key focus for MediaMath’s continued global expansion. Kinected staff who were previously aligned with MediaMath clients will now operate from the Sydney office as part of the MediaMath team.

MediaMath, based in New York, also has offices in Boston, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Brazil, London, Paris, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Eric Wasserman, co-founder and chief revenue officer of MediaMath, said the time was right to establish an official Australian presence.

“We will help brands and agencies to further capitalise on the wealth of opportunities in Australia, APAC, and beyond. This is a very exciting time for MediaMath and we anticipate more announcements within the region in the near future,” Wasserman said.

As part of the move Ross McNab, one of the co-founders of Kinected along with Gary Harwick and Geoffrey King, will become managing director North America for MediaMath in New York.

Kinected will continue to operate on a number of projects as a separate entity using staff not alinged with MediaMath clients.
