MediaCom to sow Gardena's seeds Down Under

17 July 2014

MediaCom has picked up the local media buying duties for Husqvarna garden tools brand Gardena as the brand plans its first ad push in Australia.

The agency won the account, valued at about $1 million, following a pitch against undisclosed agencies.

It is the first local agency to hold the account. Previously, any media buying was done in house.

Stephen Clark, general manager of product and marketing at Husqvarna Australia, told AdNews: “We were not buying much Gardena marketing locally – we were doing a small amount in house.

“We are planning a push locally. Australia has been identified as a potential growth market and we are planning our first local campaign in the spring.”

Geoff Clarke, managing director at MediaCom Sydney, added: “We are excited by this assignment and the opportunity to partner with Husqvarna Group, a business steeped in such a rich history.”

MediaCom is also a global partner of the Husqvarna Group across 18 markets.
