MediaCom scoops $40m Yum! media account

SYDNEY: Yum!Restaurants has appointed MediaCom as its media agency, replacing incumbent Carat after a a protracted pitch which opened in September last year. 
MediaCom now takes the reigns on the $40 million account across Yum! brands including Pizza Hut and KFC as the business gears up to take on its main rival McDonalds. 
Previously in charge of media planning and buying, Carat was initially handed the entire Yum!Restaurants account for including strategy in November after BellamyHayden parted company with KFC after ten years, however the review handled by Kinesis, was not finalised until today. 
Yum! works with ogilvy & Mather on creative for KFC, while M&C Saatchi handles Pizza Hut.

MediaCom now takes the reigns on the planning and buying account across Yum! brands including Pizza Hut and KFC as the company gears up to take on its main rival McDonald's.

The pitch kicked off in September 2009, and resulted in Carat initially being handed the entire Yum! Restaurants media planning and buying account after Bellamyhayden parted company with KFC after ten years.

Yum! works with Ogilvy & Mather on creative for KFC, while M&C Saatchi handles creative duties on Pizza Hut.

Calls to Yum! were not returned at the time of writing.
