Media coverage of the coronavirus appears to have hit saturation point

Australia may have reached peak coronavirus coverage, according to analysis of metropolitan newspaper and online news by realtime media monitoring company Streem. 

"After weeks of continuous growth the coronavirus news curve appears to have flattened," says analyst Conal Hanna.

"We've basically hit saturation point in terms of coverage.

"In fact, prominent mentions of coronavirus have declined a little in the past two days. That's probably because reporters are moving on to the wider ramifications of the virus for society."
