McDonald’s has appointed Bronwyn Powell as senior director of marketing to replace Madeleine Fitzpatrick who left the fast food business in July.

Powell previously worked with McDonald’s in 2012 when she covered Fitzpatrick's maternity leave.

She joins McDonald’s this week and will report to McDonald’s CMO Mark Lollback.

Most recently, Powell was marketing and innovation director at SPC Ardmona, the food division of Coca-Cola Amatil.

Powell has also held senior roles with Pizza Hut owner Yum! Brands in Canada where she was CMO and 20 Century Fox, where she was marketing director.

Fitzpatrick, who was vice president of marketing at McDonald's for four years, joined Metcash in July to head up marketing at the retail group.
