Tasmanian energy retailer, Aurora Energy has named McCann Melbourne as its creative agency partner, following a competitive pitch.

McCann will be the lead agency for the strategic and creative development and production of communications for Tasmanian energy retailer, Aurora Energy.

“We were impressed with McCann’s recent body of work, and their open and collegiate approach to developing strategic and creative work," Aurora marketing lead Jennifer Penney says.

"The team has shown a real understanding of our industry and the Tasmanian consumer. We’re excited to take the brand to the next level with McCann.”

The energy retailer was established in 1998 and is wholly owned by the Government of Tasmania, managed by the Minister for Energy and the State Treasurer.

“We had an immediate rapport with the Aurora team, and appreciate their partnership approach, and our shared belief in using creativity to solve business problems," McCann managing director Georgina Pownall says.

"There’s a big task ahead for the brand, with increased competition but we believe Aurora’s passion for Tasmania will help win the battle.”
