No longer will media boardrooms be dazzled by the enfant terrible of the media buying industry. UM boss Mat Baxter is set to direct commercials instead of media companies and has resigned from the IPG Mediabrands unit to live the dream.

Hearing the news, gun industry director Steve Rogers said he was not surprised. “Mat's been telling stories all along. He'll be a natural.”

At least, that's the promo shtick for the new AdNews jobs board.

Cummins&partners CEO Sean Cummins stars as a waiter, and in the coming weeks, Mindshare CEO Katie Rigg-Smith, Clemenger chairman Rob Morgan, NewsLifeMedia's Nicole Sheffield and Bauer's Tony Kendall will be making cameos and announcing 'shock' moves.

The new jobs board is powered by Magdex, and it's the same proposition behind Haymarket's Brand Republic stable in the UK, with Campaign, Media Week, Marketing and PR Week all using the platform.

At the heart of the mobile-optimised system is a CV search and match facility. Post your CV and employers and recruiters can match job specs to it.

The idea behind the M&C Saatchi promo campaign for Adnewsjobs.com.au is that Baxter, Cummins, Rigg-Smith et al, all made the right connections to end up at the top. Given it's Monday morning, that loads of work has piled up over the school holidays, and Christmas seems a life time away, why not post your CV? You can control the access to it, your boss need never know...
