The Marty Sheargold Show has been found guilty by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) of breaching the Commercial Radio Code of Practices' decency rules by broadcasting sexist commentary about women and women’s sports earlier this year.

The comments included that the Australian women’s national football team, the Matildas, was behaving like “Year 10 girls”, with the host proceeding to mimic a Year 10 girl.

Triple M Sydney Pty Ltd, Triple M Brisbane Pty Ltd, Gold Coast FM Pty Ltd and Maryborough Broadcasting Company Pty Limited have all been named, with ACMA currently considering whether they will take legal action against the licenses.

“Sexist comments like this don’t belong in Australian broadcasting. Even if the comments were an extremely ill-judged attempt at humour, a reasonable listener would have found them offensive and to have crossed the line,” said ACMA authority member Carolyn Lidgerwood

ACMA have included Southern Cross Austero's (SCA) decision to cancel the show and part ways with host Marty Sheargold.
