Mark Read’s new gig

Mark Read, the former CEO of WPP, has landed as chair of media measurement business Kantar Media.

Kantar Media was sold by Kantar Group and Bain Capital to H.I.G. Capital in August of this year. WPP sold its majority stake in Kantar in 2019. 

“Kantar Media serves a unique and essential role in the media ecosystem – helping advertisers, agencies, media owners and platforms understand how people are consuming media and how best to direct their media investments,” said Read. 

Cindy Rose took over from Read at WPP in September with the job of reversing a slide in revenue. 

Patrick Béhar, CEO of Kantar Media, said Read combines deep strategic thinking with practical experience in transformation, data and AI.
