Sell-side advertising platform Magnite announced that James Young will stay as managing director of Australia following the acquisition of SpotX

Juliette Stead will continue to lead Magnite across Asia Pacific and Japan in her role of Senior Vice President, Head of JAPAC, while Gavin Buxton has been appointed Managing Director of Asia.

Nikola Small, who is returning from maternity leave, has been appointed as Seller Lead in Australia where she will head up Magnite’s growing publisher accounts team and develop key relationships with Magnite’s portfolio of broadcaster and publisher clients. She has worked at Magnite and Rubicon Project over the last five years in client facing roles.

The announcement follows Magnite’s acquisition of SpotX, which created the largest independent CTV and video ad platform.

Ilda Jamison, former managing director, ANZ, at Spotx, is now MD at advertising technology company Quantcast in ANZ.

Magnite now boasts an increased headcount, omnichannel strength due to the combined experience across all digital ad formats; and recently announced investment in its APAC data center.

James Young: “It’s been an exceptional year leading Magnite’s Australian team and we’ve gone from strength to strength with our Australian revenues increasing greater than 60% and ad spend up more than 70% year on year. Nikola’s return will further ensure we can continue servicing our clients to the fullest degree and reaching new milestones.”

Recent local announcements for Magnite in Australia include supporting Seven West Media with programmatic trading for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 programming.

Juliette Stead, SVP Head of JAPAC at Magnite: “With James’ strong leadership at the helm of Magnite in Australia, the company will continue to support media owners and media buyers in this market as they seek a scaled, independent platform.”
