Young local musicians will be able to collaborate with the likes of Stan Walker and Grammy-award winning artist Charlie Puth, as part of a global music creation project from LG Electronics.

The Life’s Good Music Challenge calls on aspiring young Australians to submit their own performances as part of the project - be it writing lyrics, singing or performing an instrument - based on the Puth-composed piece Life's Good.

Local talent behind the three of the winning entries will receive LG prizes valued at more than $3,000 and the opportunity to record with Stan Walker and feature in an accompanying music video.

“I'm excited about the opportunity to be able to collaborate with so many different artists and just being exposed to different people and their talents," Walker says.

Pending COVID-19 restrictions, local winners will physically or virtually spend one day recording with Walker, as well as participating in a two-day video shoot.

Walker will also work with the winners to help hone their works.

The artist, whose albums Introducing Stan Walker and From the Inside Out, encouraged participants to be themselves, as well as being authentic in the music they create.

“My process and approach is always to make music that makes me feel something," Walker says.

"The making and creating of songs is always a different process depending on who I'm working with or by myself. But I always write on how I’m feeling at that time and what I might be going through.”

The competition is open to those aged between 15 and 35 years old.

Submissions to the Life’s Good Music Challenge can be made by posting to Instagram or YouTube with the hashtags #LGMusicChallenge_AU, #LifeisGoodMusic_LG, #LGMusicChallenge, #LGAustralia and following LG Australia on Instagram or YouTube.

The 2021 version of the Life’s Good song was originally produced by Grammy-nominated artist Charlie Puth.

“I can’t wait to listen to everyone’s submissions and hear their take on the melody and chorus,” Puth says.

“Music has always been a source of healing and empowerment for me, and I know this is going to be a memorable experience for everyone.”

To accompany the 2021 Life’s Good campaign, LG has also created a brand channel on GIPHY offering a variety of cheerful GIF stickers – for use on Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms.
