He was previously head of the client and commercial team.
Lavery will focus on intelligence-led growth, including data, insight and strategy helping support publishers, brands and industries in their decision making.

"Leigh has been instrumental in establishing The Growth Distillery as a trusted partner for brands and publishers seeking evidence-based growth strategies," she said.
“His deep understanding of the media landscape, combined with his commercial acumen and passion for innovation, makes him the ideal person to lead The Growth Distillery into its next phase. We're delighted to recognise his contributions and our continued investment in the talent driving our success."
Lavery said he looks forward to leading the next stage of expansion, continuing to strengthen offerings for partners.
"At The Growth Distillery, our mission has always been to challenge conventional thinking and help businesses unlock sustainable growth through deep customer insights," he said.
"I'm looking forward to leading our talented team to expand our research capabilities and deliver even greater value to our partners across the industry."
Lavery succeeds Dan Krigstein, who will work closely with Krigstein during a handover period before his departure at the end of the year to pursue a new opportunity with his family interstate.
