The 2026 King's Birthday Honours List includes broadcasters, journalists, publishers and advertising executives recognised under the Order of Australia.
Former ABC broadcaster Fran Kelly was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to broadcast journalism, social justice, equality and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Kelly spent more than four decades at the ABC, including 16 years hosting Radio National Breakfast. She was also the national broadcaster's political editor and Europe correspondent.
Television host and producer Rove McManus was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to broadcast media, entertainment and the community.
McManus became one of Australian television's best-known personalities through Rove Live before moving into production, radio and podcasting. His credits include The Project, Rove LA and Before the Game.
The late broadcaster James Valentine was also awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the media as a radio presenter and television host, to music and to children's literature.
Valentine was a familiar voice on ABC Radio Sydney for more than two decades through Afternoons and Breakfast, alongside work in television, music and publishing.
Former Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann was recognised with a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to journalism, the fashion industry and arts governance, while advertising and marketing executive Geoffrey Fader was honoured for his contribution to business development and the marketing profession.

The late James Valentine, for significant service to the media as a radio presenter and television host, to music, and to children's literature. Former presenter of ABC Radio Sydney Afternoons and Breakfast.
Geoffrey Fader, Mount Nelson, Tasmania, for significant service to business development, to vocational training, and to the community. Former national president and life member of the Australian Marketing Institute, and managing director of Jackson Wain Advertising, later Leo Burnett Advertising, from 1967 to 1986.

Geoffrey King, Victoria, for service to broadcast media. Long-serving chair, presenter and former music coordinator at Triple R community radio.
Geoffrey Prenter, Bowral, NSW, for service to the print media as a sports journalist. Founding editor of Rugby League Week and former journalist with The Sun and The Daily Telegraph.
Paolo Rajo, NSW, for service to the Italian community of New South Wales. Journalist with Multimedia Group publications including La Fiamma, Il Globo and Rete Italia Radio.
Ziaul Islam Ahmad, Bonnyrigg, NSW, for service to journalism, and to the Muslim community. Co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Australasian Muslim Times.
Rodney Kirkpatrick, Ferny Hills, Queensland, for service to community history. Journalist, author and editor specialising in Australian newspaper history.
