Far-right British commentator Katie Hopkins has been dumped from Big Brother VIP and will be deported after her visa was cancelled.

Hopkins had arrived in Australia to appear on Seven’s upcoming season of Big Brother. She sparked public backlash over the weekend after she posted a video to social media while in hotel quarantine calling lockdowns the “greatest hoax in human history”.

Hopkins also claimed she was waiting by her door for a worker to deliver food so she could “spring it open...and do it naked with no face mask”.

This morning, Home Affairs minister Karen Andrews told ABC News Breakfast that Hopkins' visa had been cancelled.

“We will be getting her out of the country as soon as we can arrange that," Andrews said. "I am hoping that will happen imminently."

Sleeping Giants OZ tweeted: Dear @Channel7 we will be targeting EVERY advertiser during your Olympic coverage to ensure they are aware they are advertising with a media company who gives the racist Katie Hopkins a platform.

Stephen Fagan, director at Media Republic, on LinkedIn at the weekend: "I for one will encourage my clients to boycott advertising in Celebrity Big Brother because of this!"

Hopkins’ visa cancellation came after Seven also dumped her from the reality show following backlash for bringing her into Australia, despite her history of racist remarks, particularly when thousands of Australians remained stranded overseas.

“Seven Network and Endemol Shine Australia confirm that Katie Hopkins is not part of Big Brother VIP,” Seven Network and Endemol Shine Australia said in a statement.

“Seven and Endemol Shine strongly condemn her irresponsible and reckless comments in hotel quarantine.”
