Media agency Kaimera’s campaign for Sky News Australia's federal election coverage contributed to the largest day for mobile app engagement.
The campaign helped Sky News Australia’s mobile app reach its highest number of daily active users and ranked as the top Australian commercial news app on the iTunes News Chart.
In a first for the network, the campaign deployed dynamic out-of-home (DOOH) technology to broadcast live election results on digital screens in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane CBDs.
The execution included real-time data feeds of the two-party preferred vote and seat counts, sourced directly from Sky News' live broadcast and pushed to roadside, bus shelter and street furniture displays in high-traffic areas.
“We couldn’t think of a better moment to launch our first dynamic out-of-home campaign than the biggest political event of the year,” said head of marketing and communications at Sky News Australia, Emma Van Der Aa.
“Thanks to our partners we showcased live results to high-traffic sites in key locations; all powered by our election experts at the Sky News Decision Desk.”
Kaimera, an independent media agency that focuses on data-driven and integrated campaigns with a focus on transparency, flexibility, and measurable results, worked alongside QMS and Convo Ink on delivery of the campaign.
“We are so pleased to support this election campaign in partnership with Sky News, using a media approach designed to keep voters informed in real time,” said chief client officer at Kaimera, Anna Magliano.
“By integrating a live feed of the two-party preferred vote and seat count from Sky News’ broadcast into strategically selected OOH sites, we ensured the message remained timely and visible during key moments on election night.”
