Last night's launch of the latest Junior Masterchef Australia season has attracted 524,000 metro viewers for Ten.

The reality cooking show returned after nine years with new judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen amid the success of their first season judging Masterchef Australia earlier this year.

The new season’s launch attracted 210,000 metro viewers in the 18-49 age group, and 237,000 metro viewers for the 25-554 age group.

Another 179,000 regional viewers tuned in, taking the show’s total national audience overnight to 703,000.

A Network 10 spokesperson: “The return of Junior MasterChef delivered solid results across all platforms. They might be young but our 14 mini-MasterChefs are amazingly talented and we know everyone will love their journey. Add in our judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen – plus some of the best chefs and cooks in the country – and this season will only continue to grow.”

Also airing last night was Nine’s The Block, which aired in two parts.

The Block Room Winner segment attracted 1.086 million metro viewers, topping the night across all programs, followed by The Block segment which attracted 992,000 metro viewers.

The renovation show pulled in 479,000 metro viewers across the 18-49 age group and 543,000 metro viewers across the 25-54 age group.
