Yahoo has promoted Julia Edwards to NSW sales director.

Edwards, who joined Yahoo 18-months ago, has been instrumental in building the commercial success of Yahoo Creative Studios (formerly RYOT Studios) in her role as head of strategic solutions.

She takes over from Clare Rudduck who is leaving Yahoo after twelve years.

Edwards has been behind a number of industry-first campaigns using cutting-edge technology, including try-before-you-buy experience for BIG W’s Toy Mania, virtual santa campaign for Officeworks and bringing to life the Finding Our Heart children's book for NAIDOC Week.

She will now be responsible for leading the Sydney-based sales team and growing strategic partnerships with clients and agencies in the market.

“I can’t wait to step in and take on this new challenge alongside such an exceptional team," she says.

"With the amount of market-leading products we already have and so much innovation in the pipeline I’m excited to blend what I’ve learned with Yahoo Creative Studios to help even more brands connect online-to-offline and commercialise creative ideas.”

She reports to general manager, sales ANZ Rachel Page who says: “We have such an amazing breadth of talent at Yahoo and Jules is no exception.

"She’s a proven creative thinker who has led some amazing bleeding-edge experiences for clients and made a real impact on their businesses.

“I’m excited to see how her strategic knowledge and understanding can create even more impact as we build out our e-commerce strategy, as well as contribute to our culture and CSR partners through her human and helpful approach.”

Edwards brings to the role over 16 years of experience commercialising global media properties across all platforms, She’s held management roles at a number of publishers including The Guardian, CNN, MCN and Foxtel.

This is the latest in a string of senior promotions announced by Yahoo since Paul Sigaloff was appointed Vice President of ANZ INSEA earlier this year.

Rachel Page was announced as general manager, sales ANZ, Simon Wheeler to senior director of content ANZ SEA, and Euan Black to director of content ANZ.
