VMLY&R Melbourne managing partner Jon Kenyon is departing the WPP AUNZ-owned agency.

VMLY&R confirmed that Kenyon is leaving VMLY&R Melbourne. His last day is today but remains on gardening leave until May.

Kenyon tells AdNews he has loved his time helping to transform the Melbourne office.

"I have had a great time there over the last four years, especially in Melbourne. I'm proud of how we transformed and rebuilt Melbourne," Kenyon tells AdNews.

"I'm happy to leave the agency in good shape."

He confirmed he has a new role but was unable to divulge details just yet.

Sarah Bailey will lead VMLY&R Melbourne as sole managing partner, after sharing the role with Kenyon.

“Jon has been a great contributor to the agency over the last couple of years, and we wish him well in the next phase of his career," a WPP spokesperson said.

"VMLY&R Melbourne goes from strength to strength and is in great hands with Sarah.”

Kenyon joined VML as senior project manager in 2017 prior to its merger with Y&R the following year.

He was then promoted to managing partner in 2019 alongside Bailey.

Prior to his time at the agency, he worked at Fox Sports, Isobar and Big Red Communications.
