John Gutteridge, the former CEO of Wunderman Thompson ANZ, has created a new role for himself -- making premium sloungewear.

He left mid last year after working within the agency's global network since 1999.

Now he's about to launch MAWDE, a purpose-driven ecommerce business that makes sustainable sloungewear for sleeping, lounging and living-in.

"I worked for 20 years in the communications and  technology industry globally," he writes on his LinkedIn profile

"In more recent years I became restless to create something different, something that would be meaningful and distinctive.

"MAWDE is designed to disrupt the category and inspire change from consumers and industry alike. It's a brand with purpose that loves to challenge conventions.

"MAWDE tells it how it is, and takes pride in acting responsibly with great effort going into sustainable and ethical manufacturing locally."

MAWDE is due to be launched "early 2021" with the slogan "From the sheets to the streets".

Gutteridge hasn't yet revealed materials, style or pricing.
