Rapp Sydney managing director and DDB Sydney board member Jeff Sanders has resigned after almost a decade with the agency.

Sanders joined the direct marketing agency, part of the DDB network, in 2002 when the agency was still Rapp Collins. Rapp Collins was rebranded as Rapp in 2008.

Sanders has not yet revealed any future plans.

DDB Sydney group managing director Chris Brown said: “Jeff has made an incredible impact over the past nine years – his honest approach, passion and energy has helped build Rapp into the business that it is today. Importantly he has been incredibly supportive of his people and teams. He is leaving to explore new challenges and we wish him all the very best.”

Sanders said: “I’ve had an incredible nine years with Rapp Sydney, it’s been an amazing journey to see it grow into one of the best direct and data agencies in Australia, achieving many new business wins and awards along the way.

"It’s time for Rapp to move into its next phase of development and for me to do the same. With a progressively-minded Group management team on board, great team and great clients, the building blocks are certainly in place for Rapp and the DDB Group to make the next step into a dynamic, data-driven marketing future together.”

Charles Rallings, chief operations officer of DDB Sydney, will act as interim managing director of Rapp.

Earlier this month, AdNews revealed that Rapp lost the Austar direct marketing account to Lavender following a pitch. Rapp previously held the account for nine years.

Rapp recently produced an integrated campaign, including television, for Red Cross Blood Service which launched this past Sunday.
