Advertising holding company Dentsu has reorganised its sports businesses in Europe, the Americas and Asia into one global structure, a move designed to differentiate the Japan-based group from competitors.

Dentsu Sports International, to be known under the brand “dentsu sports”, will include six subsidiaries and four businesses, including those in Australia and New Zealand.

The company says: “By linking the capabilities of Dentsu Inc. and other Dentsu Japan Network companies in the sports business domain with Dentsu International’s consulting functions and capabilities such as measuring the effectiveness of sponsorship and then further expanding them, dentsu will provide advanced solutions to various client companies and organisations.”

The six sports network companies outside of Japan: Dentsu Sports Europe based in London; Dentsu Sports America in New York; Dentsu Sports Asia in Singapore; Dentsu Sports LLC in California); Dentsu Sports Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City); and Halo Sport Limited in Auckland.

The new structure will also take in the four MKTG Group companies in the US, Canada, UK and Australia.
