Barker Alumni is refreshing its brand for the school’s alumni community in a campaign via It’s Friday.

The rebrand introduces a modernised logo and design system, replacing the legacy Old Barker Association identity with a contemporary and unified brand.

"We wanted to create a modern expression of what Barker stands for today, something that feels contemporary, inclusive and built for the future, while still carrying a sense of heritage,” said It’s Friday senior designer Mariah Ferrer.

“The goal was a brand alumni would genuinely feel proud to wear and be part of. At the centre of the identity is an infinity loop forming the letters ‘ba’, representing the lifelong connection people have with Barker and the idea that being part of the community doesn’t stop when school ends.”

A key feature of the redesign is a simplified and flexible logo, supported by a bold visual language that balances Barker’s heritage with a more modern expression.

“This new identity reflects who we are today, a connected and inclusive alumni community,” said Barker Alumni president Dush Sharma.

“It gives us a platform to engage our alumni in a more meaningful and consistent way.”

The historic school crest has been retained for formal use, while the new identity has been created for everyday applications.

“Barker Alumni presented an exciting opportunity to create a modern identity that celebrates the rich heritage of the school while looking confidently to the future,” said It’s Friday CEO Pete Bosilkovski.

“We're proud to have helped develop a brand system that can support and grow one of Australia's most engaged alumni communities.

“The new identity balances heritage and progress, giving alumni a modern symbol of connection that can unite sporting clubs, cultural groups, mentoring programs and future generations under one distinctive brand."
