Instagram Reels has launched a new feature which allows users to create their own videos alongside existing Reels, similar to TikTok Duets.

The new feature, called Remix, comes less than a year after Reels rolled out in Australia to take on the growing popularity of TikTok.

The Facebook-owned app has been making Reels more prominent, giving Reels a button on the home screen.

“Interactive tools like AR effects, polls and questions in Stories have always been a huge part of how people connect on Instagram,” Instagram says.

“We’re excited to bring that collaborative magic to Reels, and give people more ways to create and engage with the trends, songs and creators that are making culture on Instagram with Remix.”
