Initiative sees Starr quality in new hire - Ex MediaCom director joins

Former director of implementation planning and investment at MediaCom Sydney, Vanessa Starr, has joined media agency Initiative as a client director.
 
Starr has more than 13 years of experience in media investment and client management and has worked across major client portfolios including IAG, Coca-Cola, Revlon, KFC, Pacific Brands, Nestle and The Australian Government.
 
She has also previously worked for ZenithOptimedia in New York, as well as working stints at Carat and UM in Australia.

“Initiative is a much talked-about agency in the industry. Winning last years MFA Grand Prix and yet more MFA awards this year, plus some great new business wins, have all set a course for a strong future and I am really eager to contribute to the agency’s plans,” Starr said.

Australia CEO Lee Leggett said Starr “completely fits the profile” of the client partnership executives it is attracting to Initiative.

“She has a great track record and client experience, as well as being known in our industry as a highly effective media executive. She will be a great addition to Initiative Sydney’s capabilities,” Leggett said.

In her new role, kicking of on 25 November, Starr will report to Initiative client partner Andrew Lamb.

Initiative, which is part of IPG Mediabrands, has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. As a global communications network is employs more than 2500 people across 90 offices across 75 markets worldwide.
