Initiative Perth has won the account for one Western Australia's largest advertisers, Lotterywest, with the account approximately worth between $10-12 million in annual spend.

The agency has been appointed to the account on a 12-month basis and will handle all the buying and planning for the state government owned and operated service.

“We are honoured to be awarded the Lotterywest media portfolio. It’s one of WA’s most high-profile and respected brands through the popularity of its lottery games and its 86-year history of financial support for vital elements of the state’s development which contribute to building a better WA. We are truly looking forward to bringing our full skill sets and foresights to this new partnership," Initiative Perth boss Luke O'Sullivan said.

Lotterywest provides Western Australians access to play a range of lottery games, while using the funds raised from the sale of lottery games to support the Western Australian community through its grants program.

These grants support state and local government authorities in the health, sports, arts sectors, as well as hundreds of not-for-profit organisations.

Last financial year Lotterywest gave $260 million back to the local community in grants and more than $463 million in prizes to local lottery winners.

The win is the second major government account for Initiative Perth this year, after the agency was appointed to the media panel for the Government of Western Australia alongside Carat.
