Both Griffiths and Dawson will report to head of Melbourne, Initiative, Megan Davey.
Initiative has appointed Kathryn Griffiths and Mark Dawson group business directors in Melbourne.
Griffiths joins from Bunnings, where she spent more than a decade in senior brand, digital, loyalty and strategy roles, including leading Bunnings’ B2B commercial growth strategy and the integration of Beaumont Tiles.
“Initiative’s strong people culture fits perfectly with my passion to create environments where my team don’t just thrive, they grow, evolve, and achieve their ambitions," said Griffiths.
"I’m looking forward to being a part of the agency’s successful growth evolution moving forward.”
Griffiths, originally from the UK, has held policy roles across Brussels, Cardiff and Manchester. At Initiative, she will lead the ISF portfolio (Cbus, Hostplus, ISA), Crown Resorts and Repco.
“Kathryn’s rare combination of retail, loyalty and transformation expertise, grounded in years of client-side responsibility, will give our clients fresh, pragmatic insight into growth strategies," said head of Melbourne, Initiative, Megan Davey.
"Her perspective will immediately add value across our superannuation and retail accounts."
Dawson steps up from senior account director after six years with the agency. He now leads the Officeworks and DuluxGroup accounts.
“His investment background means he considers the clients’ every dollar, while his leadership acumen consistently earns client trust. This promotion recognises the breadth of his contribution and his role in mentoring our next generation of talent,” Davey said.
“These appointments set us up for the next chapter of client growth and innovation in Victoria.”
Both Griffiths and Dawson will report to Davey and begin in their new roles effective immediately.
