Sydney-based influencer marketing agency Komodo is launching a dedicated TikTok arm to the business in Australia.

The offering follows a series of key hires for the business and new creators signing to their roster. Komodo has previously worked with brands such as Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo, Nasty Gal, Thailand Tourism, and South Australia Tourism.

“With our extensive experience in launching successful Instagram, Facebook and YouTube campaigns, it feels like a natural move for us to broaden our expertise in line with trends to accommodate TikTok in the Australian market as well,” says Komodo co-founder and director of talent Joe Ellyatt.

“As the platform is now the fastest growing social app globally, it is going to become vital for brands to diversify their social channels and focus on TikTok in reaching and engaging audiences.”

The agency recently appointed Corbin Sylk as talent and campaign manager for the Australian team and will be specialising in TikTok activations for global brands. Sylk has worked with musicians such as Tyga, Blue Face and Billy Ray Cryus, helping them achieve viral hits.

Komodo has also signed a selection of TikTok content creators to their roster, including Andy Pend (@andythesk), Sasha Morpeth (@sashamorpeth) and Tom Sharpe (@clouttom).

“There is so much opportunity and potential for brands to be promoting on TikTok as it grows in popularity,” Silk says.

“However, it also brings in a new era for social media with a new generation that’s notoriously harder to promote to than ever before, meaning it’s more important for brands to ensure their approach to social media marketing is authentic and resonates with what this demographic want to hear.”
