The industry is rallying for Mirella Stone, who has worked in media and advertising for more than 30 years, after her son was involved in a severe scooter accident while on holiday in Vietnam.

Stone, client manager for Carat, and her family have set up a Go Fund Me page to help bring her son, Seb, back home. The family is still in Vietnam by his bedside.

Adele Gibb, managing director at Carat SA, shared the news via LinkedIn that his family had started the fundraiser as they've been advised the cost to bring him home is about $283,000.

"If you can support in any way it will be very much appreciated. Please keep Mirella and her family in your thoughts," said Gibb.

The Go Fund Me page outlined that Stone's son has severe fractures to his skull as well injury to the brain. He is stable, but in an induced coma, it says.

"The costs are very high and any donation would really help to support future surgeries and recovery," says the page.

"We are so thankful for all the love we have received from everyone so far. It's amazing to see how loved and supported he is.

"We will keep everyone posted on how he is progressing and continue to stay positive. Please also send your love, prayers and positivity to Seb right now."
