Leanne Glamuzina.

Our Industry Profile takes a look at some of the professionals working across the advertising, adtech, marketing and media sector in Australia. It aims to shed light on the varying roles and companies across the buzzing industry.

Leanne Glamuzina: Head of marketing, oOh!media

Time in current role/time at the company:

Just over a year

How would you describe what the company does?

oOh! is Australia’s leading Out of Home media company, focused on making brands unmissable through impactful and creative campaigns.

What do you do day-to-day?

I have scored the best job in the world. I get to work with a great brand, great products, and most importantly, great people. I’m surrounded by an incredibly passionate and talented team, and it’s a privilege to be part of it every day. No two days are ever the same and the fast pace and variety gives me energy. My role is to shape how we take our brand to market and how we show up in it. From big campaign moments to standout events and experiences, my focus is on bringing our brand to life in bold, impactful ways.

Define your job in one word:

Unmissable.

I got into marketing/advertising/media/tech because:

It’s the perfect mix of creativity, strategy and people and I’m hooked on what happens when those things come together. I love turning ideas into something that genuinely influences how people feel and what they remember.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role?

Cutting through the noise. Everyone’s trying to be seen, so making sure what we do is not just visible but cuts through is what keeps me on my toes.

What’s the biggest industry-wide challenge you’d like to see tackled?

There’s an ongoing tension between brand building and performance. Too often, the focus leans heavily toward short-term metrics at the expense of long-term brand impact. The opportunity is in getting that balance right because the strongest brands don’t choose between the two- they deliver both.

Notable campaigns you have worked on:

I’ve been lucky to work on some absolute crackers over the years. At Nova and smoothfm, filming a shower scene with Robbie Williams (yes, we were briefly in the shower together) is definitely one that comes to mind. At Koala, being part of a brand that truly embraced creativity and risk-taking was a highlight, there was always permission to have fun and do things differently. At Boomtown, travelling to regional cities across Australia with Flex Mami and bringing the Population: Unexpected campaign to life is something I’m incredibly proud of. And now at oOh!, I’m loving the challenge of telling compelling B2B stories and showcasing the real impact OOH can have for brands.

Who has been a great mentor to you and why?

Jane Palfreyman. We worked together at Nova and she’s become both a mentor and a great friend. She’s incredibly wise and always gives clear, grounded advice - exactly what you need in marketing and in this industry.

Words of advice for someone wanting a job like yours?

Surround yourself with people you can learn from, stay open to different experiences, and don’t rush it. The best careers aren’t linear, they’re built by saying yes to opportunities, learning as you go, and backing yourself along the way.

If I wasn't doing this for a living, I'd be:

A Naturopath, probably telling everyone to drink more water and get more sleep (including myself).

My mantra is:

No matter what, do it with kindness.

My favourite advert is:

I’ve always loved the Qantas ads, especially the 2015 ‘Feels Like Home’. The storytelling and the soundtrack just hit differently, they get me every time.

Music and TV streaming habits. What do you subscribe to?

I love music so Spotify is my go-to. When it comes to streaming, I have recently signed up to HBO Max.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?

I have an insatiable craving for ice cream every single day... and I fully lean into it.

In five years time I'll be:

Doing work I love, surrounded by great people… and hopefully having met the man of my dreams (manifesting).
