Donna Tauro: National Product Sales Director - Retail at oOh!media 
 
Time in current role/time at the company: 
2 months most recently, but 11+ years on and off.
 
How would you describe what the company does? 
Provide scalable and strategic Out of Home solutions for brands. 
 
What do you do day-to-day? 
I champion oOh!’s retail Out of Home offering to new and existing customers and whilst also educating and advocating for effective planning of the format. 
 
Define your job in one word: 
Rewarding. 
 
I got into marketing/advertising/media/tech because: 
My first career out of university was in nursing, so in comparison, advertising seemed very fun and glamorous! 
 
What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role?
Retail OOH is extremely competitive and to be successful in winning business, proposals are often reduced to cost/rates over quality and ROI. I’d love to see more strategic planning and buying in the space, and for brands to focus on the metrics that will shift the dial and drive real outcomes.  
 
What’s the biggest industry-wide challenge you’d like to see tackled? 
Retention and remuneration. The Australian media is an industry filled with incredible talent however the rate of attrition is too high and burn out is everywhere. 
 
Notable campaigns you have worked on: 
During my time at Dentsu, I was an investment director on the Woolworths account and had a large role on the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics Sponsorship (Broadcast & OOH). It was an extremely challenging but very rewarding time. 
 
Who has been a great mentor to you and why? 
Georga Payne, CIO Woolworths at Dentsu. A fiercely loyal and caring leader who is also incredibly smart and dynamic. 
 
Words of advice for someone wanting a job like yours? 
Be hungry, work hard and show up. Learn from the people around you.  
 
If I wasn't doing this for a living, I'd be:
A real estate agent or house flipper.  
 
My mantra is: 
Clean house, clean mind. 
 
My favourite advert is: 
Always has, always will be… Yellow pages, Not Happy Jan. I’m clearly showing my age with this.
 
Music and TV streaming habits. What do you subscribe to?
Loving Chappell Roan right now and in terms of streaming, we have everything! Just finished 1883 and 1923, love a Western. 
 
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you? 
I love cats.  
 
In five years time I'll be: 
Hopefully winning the battle of proper retail planning, surrounded by a hungry, rewarded and well-balanced industry.
