The Coffee Club has celebrated a Brisbane couple who evoked their love of The Coffee Club in their wedding vows.
Rex and Jess Ablett got married on September 28, 2019, but when they posted a throwback to the day, founder John Lazarou helped them keep the vow.
Jess started the vows off saying: “I promise to occasionally let you have your way when I say ‘where do you want to eat’ and you say ‘The Coffee Club’.”
Rex completed the coffee commitment: “I promise to take you to every Coffee Club in Brisbane and, if we live long enough, every Coffee Club in the entire country.”
Lazarou arranged the first surprise for the couple on Father's Day. Since then, The Coffee Club has organised a string of dates at various restaurants, including a two-year wedding anniversary dinner on the Brisbane River at The Coffee Club Eagle Street, complete with musician and fireworks display.
Lazarou says social media allows the franchise to create authentic experiences for its loyal customers.
“I love the fact social media allows us to find out who is celebrating, and in which store, so that we’re able to foster authentic experiences that are bespoke for customers engaging with us.”
While Lazarou saw the humorous side of the vow, it touched his heart that the brand, products and experience truly mean something to the Abletts.
“We’re humbled that this couple has used our brand in their vows, and I’m sincerely proud that we’re making these incredible memories for them,” he said.
The Abletts have been together for seven years, they have a baby girl, and are still enjoying The Coffee Club.
“I just don’t think anything could ever live up to that anniversary dinner from The Coffee Club,” says Jess.
