Etihad and Tourism Australia double-down

Etihad Airways and Tourism Australia has doubled its marketing partnership spend to $12 million to attract more Europeans and Britons to our shores.

The additional spend covers a range of joint marketing activities including support for Tourism Australia's Restaurant Australia campaign, its international media hosting program, Australian Tourism Exchange, and targeted business events in the UK and Europe.

The pair are also planning a media campaign to be launched in Britain in early 2015.

Brand New Media adds more Fairfax power

Branded content house Brand New Media has added yet another ex-Fairfax member to its roster, with Simon Hopkins becoming its commercial and revenue director.

The ex-Fairfax executive's focus will be on maximising revenue, with a particular focus on BNM's lifestyle multi-channel network.

The new appointment comes on the heels of ex-Fairfax journalist Lisa Hudson joining the content house as the head of lifestyle channels last month.

It also promoted current sales director Peter Moore to Global Partnership Director.
