Independent Media Agencies Australia is bringing its Fast.Future.Present event to Perth on Thursday, April 23, with AI consultant Mark Byrne headlining a breakfast session at the Pan Pacific Perth.
Byrne, founder of consultancy Headspring, launched the business after a long career in media agencies to help agency teams move beyond generative AI adoption into practical impact.
His keynote, Escaping the Age of Average: How to Think Sharper, Work Smarter and Use AI Without Losing Your Edge, draws on a year of working inside organisations embedding GenAI into daily operations.
"We have never seen a technology this disruptive or this widely used, yet so poorly guided by the very organisations it is reshaping," Byrne said.
"The upside is huge, not just in productivity, but in producing better work, faster. But the difference is not tool proficiency alone.
“The people who perform best are the ones who can monitor their own thinking, question outputs, and refine what AI gives them. Mindset matters as much as capability."
IMAA CEO Sam Buchanan said Byrne's Sydney appearance drove demand for a Perth date.
"These events are vital for our industry, particularly as the sector is undergoing such rapid, transformative change," Buchanan said.
The event, presented with Nova Entertainment, is exclusive to independent media agencies.
