Specialist B2B agency IMA B2B has appointed Roy Wakelin-King strategic advisor, expanding its capabilities in government engagement, infrastructure and industry leadership.

His career includes senior roles at Transport for NSW and Roads & Maritime, where he oversaw multi-billion-dollar infrastructure programs.

He also led the NSW taxi industry through the disruption of ridesharing, securing what was then the country’s largest compensation and transition package.

Wakelin-King said he looked forward to helping clients strengthen their government relationships.

“The opportunities and challenges that come from government decisions are immense and my experience will help clients navigate policy, procurement and partnerships in ways that create long-term success.”

IMA B2B chief commercial officer Jake Cush said the appointment strengthens the consultancy’s ability to support clients in sectors where government priorities shape commercial outcomes.

“Government engagement is fundamental to how our clients engage, grow and compete,” Cush said.

“Whether it’s tech, infrastructure, mining, energy, or construction, government priorities and procurement frameworks can make or break winning tenders and new projects.

“Roy’s appointment is pivotal to our support in this critical area, giving clients access to rare insider expertise on how Government decides, funds and partners.

The move follows IMA’s acquisition of Proof Communications, which specialises in business tenders.

The appointment is effective immediately.
